Looking at the sales reports of Indian 2 wheelers, it looks like Bajaj Auto Ltd is the worst hit by a drop of 37 percent sales in the month of November. After these reports, we believe the Pune based manufacturer will not sit down in the couch.. we can hope some serious planning from Bajaj.
However, Bajaj had launched a finance scheme through Bajaj Auto Finance that allows the buyer to buy the bike with loan for 3 years with 3 years warranty and at a low interest of just under 8 percent.
Now here is the best part:
Bajaj said it would launch a new motorcycle every month from January to attract buyers. “Spending on new products will put pressure on margins,” said Prayesh Jain, research analyst with India Infoline.
The products would do well only if they were different from its existing motorcycles and targeted at a new category, he added.
Some of the possible launches would be the XCD sprint, Bajaj Blade 150cc, Bajaj Pulsar 200 FI, new Bajaj Discover 150cc (possibly, which was showcased in the Auto Expo 2008) and the low cost product, known as Steel.
These possible launches are planned to revive the 37% loss, that Bajaj Auto is facing. However I think that Bajaj should well think of launching quality product as it would hinder their brand image, but rumors are that a new sub-brand will be created for the low cost bike ’steel’.
